Series: 10 Author Questions

I have so much to share. I want to offer insight into my path toward writing a book, my own process of getting it down on paper and out there, and progress since I put it out. There have been some great developments so far and it's only just begun. Before I get to that in upcoming posts, however, I want to share a list of 10 questions I'll take on in individual upcoming posts. I've made note of these questions, because this is what I find I'm being asked often about writing itself so far. I want to offer a supportive nudge to others considering their own project. As for book content questions - that's another series ahead. I've touched on some of it in prior posts. Here is the rundown of my upcoming blog post series: 1- What is my big picture vision for this book project? 2- Why bother writing a book at this time? Is it passe? 3- Why bother writing a book and taking this on when you...

Amazon Book Sales Ranking

Wow Wow Wow… I got a call out of the blue yesterday. It was surprising and encouraging! I’ve had a hunch my story could connect with others. I’ve known I wasn’t the only one on the kind of path I’ve walked with ample learning facing things not entirely unlike what I’ve experienced finding ways to overcome and persevere one day at a time. I’m so happy people are finding it, so it can offer some sort of comfort, connection, and reassurance to them. My book is called, 9 Word Rethink To Get On With Life. I hadn’t been updated on how my book was doing and I haven’t been checking. It went out into the book selling marketplace November 8, 2018. I’m new to this and have entered the entire experience with a curiosity about how it all worked, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm to enjoy it. This woman is working with me to determine...

Unexpected Standing Ovation

I’ve been at a loss for words the last few days. Monday I gave a talk about my book at the Leadership Illinois Conference. I was coming off of a very busy weekend having flown back to the midwest from southern California the afternoon before. Plus, shortly after the speech I was informed the new Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker had requested my workplace participate in a news conference the next morning in preparation for rock bottom temperatures related to this 2019 ultra freeze snap. It was a request that directly involved me. In the middle of it, I’ve been processing the realization I’m deeply impacted by the way I was embraced at the Leadership Illinois Conference after my hour long talk. I was invited to speak about my book, 9 Word Rethink To Get On With Life. When my talk was over, my best hope was that I would leave people with the belief that we are all in this...

Hay House Book Catalog

I am proud to report my book is listed on the Hay House publication catalog site. It comes up on the front page. This might be one of my proudest moments. It’s dream come true kind of stuff. I’m going to relax into this a little and enjoy riding the wave as it’s rolling toward the shore. The sky is blue, the warm breeze is wonderful, the scent is a mix between salty sea air and jasmine, and the sun overhead is bright. Thanks to all who have supported me on this voyage. This has been a positive life-impacting adventure. When you have gone through plenty of ups and downs as we all have, you know you’re growing in an effective direction when you can recognize easily moments it’s time to do little more than take a deep breath and enjoy the ride for a while. This is one of those times – for a few days anyway. 😉 I shared this gem of a quote with an old...
